Web Copy Editing Fix and Optimize Your English Copy

The English “copy” (written content) on your website, product page, ad, etc., is written very poorly. Typos and grammatical errors, poor translation, you name it, the copy is full of errors and red flags and does not present a very positive image.

Opportunity Cost

Lost business, mainly. There is a thriving market for custom development and consulting projects from clients who find developers through their free WordPress plugins and themes, for example. Poorly-written copy understandably turn them off — they’ll worry you won’t understand their specs and instructions! Or in some cases, they think they can take advantage of you, pay you far less than what you would otherwise get or can negotiate. All because your English copy sucks.

I’ll fix it all that for you. Put my years of editorial and technical experience to work for you! In American English, I can:

  • Proofread and edit.
  • Correct and rewrite your content as necessary.
  • Suggest ways to reorganize and/or present your content, if needed.

And possibly a lot more! Clients seem to enjoy and benefit from brainstorming with me.

I’m particularly adept at understanding what clients wish to communicate, even if they are having difficulty doing so for whatever reason (they are used to techspeak or English just isn’t their native language, for instance), and “converting” that into something good.

NOTE: I do not do language translation!

I likely do not speak, read or write your language. I only work with content that has already been translated into English.

But it only has to be translated just enough for me to able to work with it. This may be good news for you! You can save money with a budget translator, or even try doing the translation yourself even if your command of the English language is only very basic.

  • The man is whole-brained!

I’ve worked with Eldon on many projects over the years, and he is just hands down one of the best writers I know. As if that weren’t impressive enough, he is very highly-skilled with computers and I.T., and a strong graphic designer as well.

    Right-brained? Left-brained? The man is whole-brained!

  • Did more than I expected.

My first book I knew had to be edited by a professional. Not that I can’t write; I can. The reason is that I was too close to it and knew I was missing things.

But finding an editor was daunting. I wanted the best, of course. Still, there really is no way to know who is the best except by personal experience. Finally, after wallowing around in the waters of uncertainty for long enough, I hired Eldon Sarte.

Let me tell you now, I was genuinely pleased with Eldon’s work. He demonstrated a grasp of what I wanted to say and did more than I expected an editor to do. Not only did he point out places that may be unclear to the reader, he also provided rewrites of some problematic paragraphs.

Without Eldon, 52 Good-to-Know Techbits would likely have become known as the Lots of Distracting Errorbits.

I’m hoping Eldon will be available when I’m ready to have my next one edited.

Every job is different. Unless a project can be fairly standardized in scope (such as WordPress Plugin Directory Pages), I am simply unable to provide any kind of basic price list.

Note, however, that these jobs are not very difficult for me nor do they usually take me very much time do, and my pricing will reflect that!

So contact me for a quote on your project now! You may be pleased to learn how inexpensive it’ll turn out to be to get your content and image all polished, professional and impressive!
